Simply put - they're cheap, convenient and get phenomenal results. 

You can literally take them anywhere you go and all you need is a piece of carpet or wooden floor - perfect for hotel rooms. 

I get a lot of my clients to take a pair with them when they travel for work.  

Investing in a pair of fitness sliders will save you time, money and fast track your results.   I got mine from K-Mart super cheap. If you're outside Australia, just buy some paper plates from your local supermarket - does the same job.

The 4 Best Fitness Slider Exercises That'll Ignite Your Core & Burn Your Glutes

Fitness Slider Exercise #1: The Alphabet
This one is super effective for your waking up your core, strengthening your shoulders and switching on the calorie burning, muscle building furnace.

  • Start on your hands and toes.
  • Simply place the slider under one hand.
  • Begin writing the alphabet.  

Once you've done A-Z on one side, change hands. 

Yes it's harder than it looks....

Fitness Slider Exercise #2 - The Ab Rollout
Man this one hurt. 

Even demonstrating it I struggled.

This fitness slider exercise is AWESOME for:

  • Developing a stronger core so you can reduce back pain.
  • Sculpting the abs so you can have a rock hard tummy.
  • Stabilising the shoulders so you can have better posture when working at a desk.

***If you feel this exercise in your back, I'd go back and do more planks or dead-bugs to build that core strength a little further.***

​This fitness slider exercise is AWESOME for:

  • Strengthening the core.

  • Blasting the calories.

Add into your workout as a finisher or as part of your program.

And last but certainly NOT least...

Fitness Slider Exercise #4 - Banded Glute Activation
This fitness slider exercise is PERFECT if you suffer tight hips and/or sit down all day.

(Or simply recovering from an MCL tear like me).

Speaking of which - this glute activation exercise can be used in nearly any form of ankle, knee or hip rehab program due to its gentle nature.

Here's how to do it:
​
  • Place a band around the knees (yes, you can buy these in the same isle at K-Mart).
  • Place one foot on the disc and the other flat to the floor.
  • Put all your weight on the leg that's NOT on the slider.
  • 'Slide' the other foot (the one that's ON the slider) out to the side then bring it back to the start.
  • You're going to 'trace the clock' so you'll slide the disc out to 3'oclock, 5'oclock, 6'oclock and then around the back to 7'oclock.
  • Rinse and repeat

Feel your butt cheeks BURN as they switch on.

If that’s all too confusing, re-watch the video and it’ll make sense.
